Every Generation Is Unique (& Special)
and so are you
Posting 5: Every Generation Can Feel (and is) Unique & Special
Pick any generation
in American history
and you
can do
this:
Born: 1890-1915 (or up to ten years on either side; 20-30 years is the usual definition of a “generation.”)
New technologies that become common during youth include:
• movies (picture that moved; a “move-y”)
• electricity
• indoor plumbing
• horseless carriage (automobile)
• telephone
• record player
• airplane
And this generation lived to see air conditioning; nuclear power; space travel; computers; robots; television; organ transplantation; antibiotics; gene splicing; and other technologies.
.
And that’s just technologies. To cite only one non-technological change: Between 1890-1915, the U.S. first (!!!!!) became a major world military, economic and cultural power.
